“People have forgotten how to tell a story. Stories don’t have a middle or an end any more.
Steven Spielberg
They usually have a beginning that never stops beginning.”
Wings
This project delves into the preparation and process behind the performances that take place on stage, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the artistry and effort involved in each production.
As the lead creative director for this project, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, from concept development to final execution. I captured the footage using a Canon EOS Rebel T5i Digital SLR and handled the post-production process, editing the footage with Adobe Premiere Pro and refining the audio using Adobe Audition.
My role required a combination of technical expertise and creative vision to bring the project’s concept to life.
Torn
This project explores the delicate balance between the ‘Light’ and ‘Dark’ self, drawing inspiration from the Afro-Brazilian dance style, Capoeira, and elements from the popular sci-fi universe Star Wars. This was a collaborative effort with a dance student, merging the themes of duality with physical movement and storytelling.
In this project, I served as the cinematographer, editor, and stunt double, utilizing a Canon EOS Rebel T5i Digital SLR to capture the footage. The post-production process involved editing the visuals in Adobe Premiere Pro and refining the audio using Adobe Audition. My role required a blend of technical proficiency and physical performance, ensuring the final piece seamlessly integrated both artistic vision and execution.
Yoga & Dance
This project served as the final thesis of Abbie, a Dance Major at Alma College, and explored the connection between yoga and dance as part of her academic work.
I was responsible for shooting and editing the thesis video, which was to be presented at an upcoming conference. Using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ80, I captured the footage, and then edited it using Adobe Premiere Pro for visuals and Adobe Audition for audio refinement. The goal was to ensure that the final product effectively conveyed Abbie’s vision and was polished for professional presentation.
